Italian Festival's promotion

Brisbane is set to embrace all things Italian for the third consecutive year when Italian Week hits the city from MAy 26 to June 2.
Italian Week is the offical celebration of Italian National Day, the Festa della Repubblica, an initiative of the Consulate of Italy in Queensland and the Northern Territory.
This year;s week-long festivities will offer a colourful program jam-pacjed with Italy;s finest food, wine, fashion, music, literature, history and sport.
Festival producer Alessandro Sorbello says Italian Week 2009 will provide a unique insight into Italian culture through a range of events and activities for all ages and nationalities.


La bella vita @ Queen Street Mall

Fashion designers from Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE will showcase thei Italian-inspired creations at Italian Fashion Week.
Eighteen students were handpicked to exhibit their garments in the fashion extravaganza which will be held in Queen Street Mall from May 29-31.
The talented young designers will have their creations paraded alongside collections from fashion success stories such as Elio Moda and Subfusco.

Most of the events are free, including "Italian Fashion Week" showings, an Italian Motot Expo and the Italian Waiters race as well as musical recitals at Reddacliff Place in the city.

At the official Launch of Italian Fashion Week in Australia, Elio Marzullo creative director of the label Elio Moda, the Italian Consul, The Ambassador of Italy, Gian Ludovico de Martino di Montegiordano and Italian Week Executive Producer Alessandro Sorbello celebrate a successful international collaboration between the Queensland and Australian Government after the Italian Fashion on Show in the Queen Street Mall.
Italian Fashion Week is an event organized to promote Italian design and Made In Italy. Appreciated and valued the world over, Italian fashion and Style is has inspired countless designers and stylists. During Italian Week, Italian born designer Elio Marzullo owner and creative director of the label Elio Moda showcases Italian designs and Italian Inspired works from designers such as Subfusco and emerging stylists from Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE, fashion who have created a range of Italian Inspired designs. During the interval, Fatima Scialdone performed at the Launch of Italian Fashion Week. Direct from Italy and supported by the Italian Embassy in Canberra, Italian Week is proud to present Fatima Scialdone, a truly international phenomenon who has toured extensively around the world. Born in Gaeta, a beautiful peninsula near the Amalfi Coast, Fatima is a Graduate of the National Academy of Dramatic arts in Rome and is the quintessential Italian Diva, her versatility is apparent as she has studied classical and modern ballet, the waltz, the polka, the flamenco.
