Fashion Week: The Best of NYFW Spring/Summer 2012: New York Fashion Week Review | FashionTV - FTV

http://www.FTV.com/videos NEW YORK - FTV presents a review of New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 featuring urban chic meets feminine designs that are perfect for the hip and stylish in NYC and across America. Featuring top American models like Arizona Muse and Karlie Kloss as well as a bevy of beauties from around the world, this season was one not to miss and now FTV has the recap just for you.
We begin with the vibrant, eye-popping and girly Betsey Johnson collection, which focused on curvy sexy appeal and featured Betsey's daughter Lulu. At the BCBG Max Azria show, the girls model 1920s pieces with a sporty athleticism, according to Hairstylist Neil Moody who sleeked their hair back to match. The models shined in form fitting metallic silver and gold bandage dresses at Herve Leger by Max Azria, where gladiator girl met Greek goddess and warrior princess. Alexander Wang's mesh and motorcross collection was fit for a motorcycle queen who likes urban florals. Backstage at Diane von Furstenberg, Hairstylist Orlando Pita shows us the French twist hairdo at DVF with the help of model Caroline Brasch Nielsen.

We also watch the makeup artists put light green eyeshadow on lovely Arizona Muse. DVF says her show should be called "Beginnings" because it's about hope, light, and optimism. It's light and colorful and full of florals and other patterns. Refined Old Hollywood glamour in dresses and gowns comes back to life at Zac Posen where Canadian model Coco Rocha opened the collection. Beyonce and Kim Kardashian were A-list guests at Vera Wang and for good reason. The collection was a white wonderland of bubble skirts, sheer tops, corsets, and even a little bride style followed by cool graphic prints and neon, mint green, and pink looks. Tommy Hilfiger's preppy paradise was inspired by pop art and it showed, but with signature Tommy finesse.

Another star-studded front row was Rodarte, which included Taylor Swift and the Fanning sisters--for good reason. The collection was youthful, vibrant, elegant, but fun. Prabal Gurung took NYFW by storm with his digital print-infused purple and mint green collection that included models like Karlie Kloss and excited front row guests like Nicki Minaj. Another youthful, but vibrant collection included Marc by Marc Jacobs, which was more sporty and casual luxe than ladylike, but still made that signature MJ imprint.

Donna Karan showcased the modern woman in jungle and safari style prints. We don't expect anything less from Carolina Herrera's Spring/Summer 2012 collection, which was all lady, albeit with a Spring vibe of floral and yellow, white, green, red, and silver. Custo Barcelona got the crowd going (as usual) with 80 looks with vibrant colors, sleek 3D designs that popped out on the garment, and graphic prints galore. Like Donna Karan, Michael Kors' collection also had that African safari vibe with brown, burnt orange, leopard print, zebra print, and reds.
